Auracast Signal = Less Fatigue

This year I was excited to attend my first American Cochlear Implant Alliance conference this week, presenting on Auracast during the Emerging Technologies segment. Those with cochlear implants and Cochlear BAHA devices may benefit the most from Auracast. Because Auracast doesn't just make audio louder through hearing aids and implants, the listening experience becomes more about speech intelligibility. And that's the true magic of Auracast, the absolute unparalleled sound quality. The public spaces suitable for a Simeon Audita III are all about live speech; actual humans talking to each other and engaging their minds, imaginations and even their hearts.

Hearing loss doesn't have to get in the way of these important activities and Auracast actually makes listening pleasurable, due to the way it enhances speech intelligibility. For a child in a classroom, listening to a crystal clear Auracast signal makes their 6-7 hours in a classroom far less fatiguing, boosting not only grades but engagement and satisfaction. Because the Audita III has three microphones, students with cochlear implants and BAHA devices can hear their classmates using the pass-around microphones and fully participate in class discussions, never fearing to contribute their own ideas.

So far we have the Auracast-enabled Cochlear BAHA 7, stylishly pictured with the Audita III (it was difficult getting them both to stay still for their portrait 🙂). But the Nucleus 8, Kanso 3, Sonnet 3 and possibly a new OSIA will be joining the Auracast family this year. It's going to be amazing to see this story unfold over the next 6 months as more advances in hearing accessibility are made.
