LaSalle Places their Trust in Auracast
Auracast has come to the beautiful town of LaSalle, Ontario! The community recreation centre is using the Simeon Audita III, the world's first Auracast-enabled soundfield system, to provide improved hearing accessibility for their vibrant, daily programs.
My favourite is "coffee with a community leader", a wonderful way to promote discussion among engaged residents, debating how to invest in their community and hear directly from their leaders. The Simeon Audita III was, in fact, built exactly for this purpose. The LaSalle rec centre has a couple of medium-sized community rooms that can be used not only for a variety of programs that cater to citizens but can be rented out for various types of events, all likely involving live speech. This modest investment in hearing accessibility makes a huge difference for individuals with hearing loss, and really anyone who just wants to hear better and participate in the discussion. The Audita III comes with three microphones so audience engagement is always an important part of the event.
Kudos to the town of LaSalle for providing fully inclusive spaces and leveraging Auracast for those with Auracast-enabled hearing aids and offering Auracast receivers/neck loops for those with T-coils.
