I’ve had a chance to speak with numerous Audiologists in the last few weeks since launching our Aurcast-enabled Audita III. Certainly a portion of our conversations cover the basics of Auracast; but we always get around to discussing what impact it has on teachers as students with Auracast-enabled devices start appearing in schools. While there will be a lot to sort through in these first few classrooms, my message to Audiologists is this: “there is no more exciting time to be an Audiologist, than now!”
It’s not often that we get a chance to implement a revolutionary new technology and Audiologists are in the driver’s seat, helping patients optimize hearing accessibility in their world. 2026 is going to be a remarkable year for Auracast with demand growing quickly as more hearing aid and cochlear implant manufacturers add Auracast-enabled models. And venues like theatres, airports, conference rooms and classrooms are being outfitted with Auracast transmitters seemingly every week. Simeon sold our first Audita IIIs to more than a dozen school districts across Canada and the US, with more evaluation systems scheduled to ship after the holiday break. It’s exciting to envision these classrooms as future-proof, ready for students that can soon take advantage of crystal clear, direct-ear audio transmission. That will level the playing field for these students with improved speech intelligibility and they will effortlessly hear their peers in class discussions.
For Audiologists, the next couple of years are going to be the most incredible in a generation. Clinical Audiologists, educating newly fitted patients about Auracast, will have some of the most rewarding conversations they could imagine. Painting a picture of improved hearing accessibility in venues, public spaces and congregate settings that formerly were places of isolation and exclusion, will feel amazing. The intuitive way of connecting to an Auracast signal makes it easier to educate patients . . . and my recommendation is to get an inexpensive Auracast transmitter for their office television to demonstrate to new ReSound, Oticon and Starkey aided patients. Connecting to Auracast and hearing it for the first time will give Clinical Audiologists more “Wow” moments in their clinics!
