Hearing loss is most common in children with dyskinetic or hypotonic forms of cerebral palsy and less common in spastic and ataxic cerebral palsy. For the first time, and hopefully not the last, today’s blog spotlight discusses cerebral palsy. Cerebral palsy is defined as a disorder caused by damage to the brain that occurs before, during, or shortly following birth. It affects body movement and muscle coordination. Individuals with cerebral palsy may also experience seizures, abnormal speech, hearing and visual impairments.
